Our Mission

Our first mission is to share freedom for the captives. We are all enslaved to something in our lives. The lives of these girls provides a very literal picture of slavery. Yet if we dig a little bit deeper in our lives, we see places of bondage in each of our lives. Whether it be that right relationship, never-ending workload, seeking constant approval, or perfect parenting, something captivates our hearts and turns us away from the Gospel. In this way, we see that we are much like these precious little girls. Slavery masks itself in many ways, but it is slavery just the same. Freedom is here.

Moldova-cahul

God has given us the opportunity to manifest this freedom through a window He has opened in Moldova. Summer of July 2011, Brianna and Morgan were able to travel to Cahul, Moldova to serve with a team from Christ Baptist Church. Moldova has been described as the engine of the sex slave trade. WIth a population of only 5 million, nearly 25% of all Moldovan women are trafficked over all of Europe. Women serve as Moldova's number one export.

During our time in Moldova, we were blessed to visit a Freedom Home in the capital city of Chisnau for rescued victims of trafficking. From our first greetings with the girls, we immediately felt the love of Christ exude from their sweet spirits. We love the redemption stories these women are living out every day. With such staggering statistics, we feel lead to multiply this JOY!

Throughout our time in Cahul, we felt the increasing need for another safe home in Cahul. Located in southern Moldova, Cahul has a population hovering around 50,000. This small, seemingly insignificant town however, has not been exempt from the horror of sexual slavery. We learned that over the past 10 years, 30,000 women have been trafficked from Cahul. This fact, along with other personal testimonies, has confirmed our desire to mobilize godly change in Cahul.

As a ministry, SOS is pursuing this dream of a safe home in Cahul, Moldova. We are working to make this dream a reality. To help us achieve this goal, SOS has partnered with an organization called Choose Life. Choose Life consists of a board of men passionate about this issue from America, Moldova, and Scotland.  This organization has stemmed out of the local church in Cahul, called Immanuel Baptist Immanuel was planted by Christ Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. As mentioned earlier, this was the church that Brianna and Morgan served with in Cahul. Morgan's uncle, Phil Medlin, is the Mission's Pastor of Christ Baptist Church. He has served us tremendously by equipping us to make this home possible.

The vision for the home is for the glory of Christ to be magnified. Above all, the girls will be taught the Gospel. We believe that if we haven't shared with these girls the freedom that can be found in Christ, then what have we done? True liberty and peace is found in Him alone! Thus, the Gospel is of first importance in the home. Among other things, the girls will also be taught a trade. The property for the land beautifully lends itself to agricultural vocational training. Lush and fertile, the land will be used to grow walnut trees, garden, and raise bees. The women of the home will be employed through these different avenues. In addition to the training, they will be given godly counsel in order to holistically heal.

In addition to the home, the land in Cahul will also be used for an orphanage and sports camp. Brianna and Morgan were given the opportunity to serve in such a camp during their time in Moldova. Sports camps in Moldova serve as the main means of evangelism in lives of Moldovan teens. Through this sports camp, we will take steps of preventing trafficking. By teaching the girls of the camp the tell-tale signs of traffickers, potential victimization will be avoided. As for the orphanage, that will be a preventative step as well. By housing orphan children, the girls will be off the streets and minimize their vulnerability. Children of the orphanage and sports camp will hear the good news of the Gospel and will prayerfully begin to root themselves in the love of Christ. Experiencing freedom in Christ is the most effective means of prevention, intervention and restoration for the whole scope of the human trafficking crime industry. We praise God for such an awesome opportunity to serve in multiple capacities!

Please pray about joining us in our quest for Christ's Kingdom brought to the hearts of Moldova. We need your financial and prayer support to make building this facility possible!

May His Name be proclaimed through our home, Moldova, and beyond!
